We are taking part in a diocesan trial of the Dona Digital Collection Plate. If you are one of the many people who tends not to carry cash anymore, the unit in the porch is a secure and easy way to make donations to our church using a debit/credit card or your phone (through Apple or Google pay). Just follow the guide on the screen, select the type of donation (offertory, second collection, mass intentions, candles etc) and select or enter an amount. When prompted by the card reader, tap your card or phone on the reader (or insert your card if not enabled for contactless). The first time you use a card on the machine it will prompt you for a Gift-aid declaration. If eligible, this enables the parish to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate on several categories of donation.
